New Global Indian (NGI), the platform for networking and information-sharing, has taken a significant turn for the better this year. Since its humble launch in 2008, NGI has made far-reaching contribution to connect and share inspiring success stories of Indian diaspora at large.
Over the years, NGI has been an integral partner with many major events around the world, including the annual Pravashi Bharatiya Divas, a government of India initiative for NRIs and PIOs. Besides, it hosted the maiden NGI Excellence award ceremony in Jaipur in January to recognize NRIs and PIOs, who have made significant contributions to make the world a better place, and yet remained largely unknown for their silent pursuits.
This year, NGI is going well truly global. First, it launched the West Asia edition under the able leadership of Mr Sudhakar Murthy of Acore Communications. Then, Mr Dasarath Chetty of Durban took the lead to launch the magazine’s South Africa edition. And, finally we are launching the Singapore edition helmed by Mr Mohan Mulani. NGI plans to have several such editions across the globe so that we can bring more local stories to our global readership. We appreciate the support of all our readers, subscribers and sponsors, who have strengthened the brand and enabled NGI’s ascent to dizzying heights.
NGI has taken another bold step this year. We are organizing the first ever Global Indian Business Meet (GIBM) in New York. The concept behind the event is that while the global economy is reeling under various weaknesses, there are still a few bright spots in certain sec tors that can be tapped to power business in lesser-known geographies.
There is a moral aphorism that every challenge also brings some new opportunities. GIBM is all about an assured step in that direction — to explore new opportunities and possibilities across the globe.
Global business leaders, thinkers, leaders, entrepreneurs and investors will all be a part of the gala event that NGI is excited to organize within a short span of time. We are certain that GIBM will become a stepping stone for many similar events and initiatives in near future.
