Let us look at the origin and meaning of the word caste. American Heritage Dictionary says: "an endogamous and hereditary social group limited to persons of the same rank, occupation, and economic position." The word caste is derived from the Roman word casta (used in Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian) which meant 'pure' or chaste (in Latin Casto; Cut off and separated'). It can also mean "lineage" or "race." The Oxford English Dictionary recognizes caste as "each of the hereditary classes of Hindu society, distinguished by relative degrees of ritual purity and of social status" and as "any exclusive social class". Accordingly examples of caste-based societies are given: colonial Latin America under Spanish and Portuguese rule, Japan, Korea, some parts of Africa, and across the Indian subcontinent. "To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil."
-- William Shakespeare - To be, or not to be (from Hamlet 3/1)

I was present at Formula One Race (F1 race India) on 30th October, 2011 at Greater Noida. As a sponsor of Ground Arrangements (incl. Evacuation teams), 5 of us from Mahindra group were invited on this occasion to experience first-ever F1 Car Racing in India.
We reached Delhi from Mumbai in time for the race which was scheduled at 15:30 pm. From previous day's feedback, we knew that it can take up to 2 hours to reach Greater Noida race course from Jorbagh. So we left at 12:00 pm itself, as prior to the race a vintage car rally was scheduled which was worth a dekho. On the way I realised how good an infrastructure has been created in Greater Noida.
